FORUMCC conducted a study on “Energy and Forest Sectors in Context of Tanzania Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)”.The study aimed at undertaking an in-depth sector-based analysis of Tanzania (NDCs). Specifically the review: (i) identified gaps and inform existing policies in energy, forest sectors and climate change cross cutting issues, (ii) assessed the contributions of energy and forest sectors in the implementation of (I) NDCs and (iii) analyzed climate finance flows in the energy, forestry sectors and climate change cross cutting issues.The draft report is ready for stakeholders’ inputs and comments to complement one-on-one consultations that were done. Tanzania has ratified National Determined Contributions (NDCs) last year (2018) as part of Paris Climate Agreement framework. This Agreement requires countries to implement the NDCs through national policy frameworks. FORUMCC whose mandate is to contribute to the achievement of policy coherence and foster integration of Climate Change in policy and planning has recently conducted a study on “Energy and Forest Sectors in Context of Tanzania Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)”. The study provides detailed analysis on two NDC priority sectors – Energy and Forest. The recommendations will be used to equip civil society with evidence for advocacy. The draft report is ready for stakeholders’ inputs and comments to complement one-on-one consultations already done.
