Our Work & Expertise

FORUMCC areas of expertise include shaping national climate policies, strategies, and plans, as well as supporting local governments in integrating climate change adaptation measures into development planning and budgets. We implement accountability and transparency initiatives, track climate finance, conduct budget analysis, and empower youth and women through capacity-building, mentorship, and engagement in climate action to enhance communities’ capacity to:

• Respond to climate change related challenges
• Participate in planning and budgeting processes
• Hold duty bearers accountable and demand transparency

Since its establishment in 2008, FORUMCC has been working on climate change policy influence, local adaptation practices, solid waste management, urban resilience, coastal adaptation, mitigation measures, land use management, right to participate in planning and budget processes, demanding accountability, tracking climate finance, and promoting integration of climate adaptation into planning and budgets.

FORUMCC work is rooted in three main areas:

• Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations and communities to carry out activities that combat and build resilience against climate change impacts.
• Research and policy analysis related to climate change to provide evidence-based information for engagement in addressing climate change impacts.
• Advocacy, lobbying, and participation in policy and budget processes at community, national, and international levels.
